When it comes to the colder months, I usually end up staring at my closet and thinking to myself, everything looks the same…. If you’re anything like me and go through the same thoughts, you probably feel like all your fall and winter knits look the same. Now, it’s nice to have simple and basic pieces, but you also want to feel like you can put on a new look everyday without having it look the same from the day before.
Something that I will be keeping up with as the colder season approaches here in New York City, is shopping for knits that have some sort of edge to them and by that I mean detailing that will make it different from my other grey or black sweater. A simple detailing in the sleeve, or pattern, even cut of the knit could do the trick!
The sweater featured in this post is from Ruby and Jenna. When I saw this sweater, I instantly fell in love with its simplicity and minimalistic detailing. The grey ombre, high neckline plus bell sleeve cuts didn’t make it your typical grey knit sweater.
To bring in some more detailed aspects into my look, I paired this 70’s vibe sweater with my ripped up motto Rag and Bone Jeans, cuffing them to bring the attention to the metallic feature on my sneaks. And of course, wearing my favorite fall bag from Proenza Schouler. To go with the whole vibe, I wore my Woodzee Cara sunnies which are I think are perfect for trans seasonal wear. You could get these for just $80.00 using my promo code: alexandrachloe20 for 20% off any full priced item. This promo expires December 18th!
This sweater from SheIn is definitely one of my favs hanging in my closet right now! Though it’s currently sold out on their site, at the end of the post I have linked some similar ones! What I love most about this knit are the sleeves. The shape of the sweater is super simple and the sleeves give it the perfect edge! Lets also consider how long it has taken me to find a sweater with the tie detailing in the sleeve….a looonnnggg time!
I paired this light weight sweater with my favorite Blank NYC leather pants as well as my go-to Miu Miu sneakers that go with almost everything I own! To add a little more detailing to the chest area of the sweater, I added my Studio Darling wrap around choker that added a bit more contrast!
