Gingham Party

Hi everyone! So it’s been a while since I created a blog post centered around my looks! Now that I’m officially done with my 4th semester at FIT, I have more time to focus on creating new content for you guys!

I want to talk about this seasons hottest trend, which is Gingham. Any online site you go to, any store you go to, you will inevitably run into gingham. I adore the gingham print because I personally think it’s a super fun style to mix and match with and I love it’s  retro feel. This print is flattering on almost any body shape and size and can be dressed up or down.

The gingham styled shirt dress featured in this post is from ASOS and can be bought here. Though there aren’t many sizes left, I have linked at the end of this post a ton of gingham styled dresses/tops that won’t break the bank!

My favorite way to style a gingham dress is adding a pop of color with an accessory. In my case, I wore my red Chanel WOC and subtle rose gold sandals. Yes, you can definitely wear black and/or white, but I personally like making the gingham pop. Styling gingham is super easy. If you have a gingham print top, pair it with a jean skirt or shorts, or for the chillier nights, with jeans! I would keep the bottoms basic in color and print.

In terms of footwear, I am not a heel girl but you can definitely spice up your gingham look with a neutral tone flatform or simple heel. The way I would rather style it is with sandals, flatforms, or even a pair of fun sneaks for the daytime.

This look is super easy to edge up by throwing on a leather jacket, or you can add to its retro nature by tying a jean jacket around your waist or throw it over your shoulder.

If you’ve tried the gingham print and you find that you personally don’t like how it looks on you or just hate the print, that’s totally okay! Just because it’s trending, doesn’t mean you have to have it/wear it. Find what works for you and rock it!

Create your own style.

Let it be unique for yourself

and yet identifiable for others.
