Plaid and Simple +Holiday Gift Guide

Happy Sunday to all! I can’t get over the fact that Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away! Before you know it, we’ll be celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah and than the New Year, which means we have to start planning our holiday gift ideas pronto! But the best part of starting now, is because of all the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals!

Buying gifts is tricky. Because you probably have a lot of people on your nice list,  If you’re anything like me, I always struggle not repeating gifts year after year. Let this be the year where we can combine thinking outside the box and keeping within our budget! Before I get to the gift guide, I want to quickly talk about one of my favorite fall fashion trends featured in this post!

In this blog posts outfit, I am wearing the most comfortable black long sleeve off the shoulder choker top ($35!) from StyleWe. What I love about this top is that it not only does it add onto the off the shoulder trend, but it also plays into the infamous choker trend as well. Think I scored a 2 for 1 😉 Whether it’s a sweater, dress, or any type of top that is off the shoulder, I think this style is so easy to transform from day-to-night.

I tucked the top into my Brandy Melville Plaid Skirt that I got maybe 2-3 years ago… I knew I’d wear it sometime! Of course, having to keep up with trends, I gave into the Gucci fever and bought myself the Gucci Princetown. Honestly, I didn’t really appreciate them when they first started hitting the trend charts, but then I realized that all I was missing from my closet was them because they go with absolutely EVERYTHING. They are magic; they go with jeans, sweats, skirts, dresses. Lastly, my Chanel bag is actually my grandmother’s that she gave to me and is super vintage (which I love!). If we’re talking about classic vintage Chanel, this is it.

Below, I have organized some gifting ideas for both the ladies and men. Apart from physical items, I also recommend thinking a little more in-depth to see what that someone really enjoys to do; maybe a hobby or passion. If he or she loves photography, think about maybe a photography lesson with a photographer. A site I really love is Cloud9Living; amazing for gifting experiences. Also, don’t let the cost of something define its value. I find that thoughtful and sentimental gifts are my favorite.

For the ladies:

For the Men:

Along with these gift guides, I also want to include two amazing and unique companies; Jord Watches and Woodzee. Both are known for their beautiful wooden accessories. To check out Jord Watches for men, click here; for women click here. I have their Fieldcrest watch and I absolutely love it! It makes for the perfect unisex gift and an amazing stocking stuffer! What I love about Jord along with Woodzee is that they are different from your every other watch or sunnies.

Wooden Watches by JORD

Woodzee makes the most unique wooden sunnies and just launched their first women’s watch line. The team was kind enough to send me the Victoria Watch  and I love how light it is in weight, and the unique wood face detailing. I love any wooden accessories because they really do go with any outfit. This watch is especially my favorite because it combines the earthy feeling with the chic rose gold stainless steal band. You may recognize Woodzee from my Cara Sunglasses I shot in my Shades of Grey post . You can use my code “alexandrachloe20” to receive 20% off your order of full priced items and make sure to use this fast as it expires December 18th!

I hope my guide has inspired you with some ideas and I’d love to hear whether you guys have already started checking gifts off your list! I love reading your comments so please make sure to leave one below!

Happy Holidays to you all!

xx

I was just watching one of my favourite movies, Empire Records, this skirt reminds me of the one Liv Tyler wears in it. Those Gucci slippers are so cool! Totally get it!

Apart from you looking wonderful in that dress I do have to stress that I could easily have chosen a LOT of the prezzie ideas from both the male and female section of your gift guide! 😀 Maybe I’m just too materialistic… Haha. Thanks for some great and funny tips!

I really love the sweater with the built in choker. I’ve been seeing it everywhere and it’s soooo chic! That plaid skirt pairs really well with the sweater too!!
