Being 5’2″, I could never find a denim skirt, or even just a skirt, that looked “mini” on me. By mini, I don’t mean revealing, what I mean is a skirt that didn’t make my torso look abstractly long or hid my natural curves. I could never find a skirt that hugged by petite frame nicely. Every skirt I tried on would be either to wide or to long.
As you guys already know, I partner with SheIn on a lot of the pieces that I own in my closet; this skirt being one of them. Trust me, there have been pieces I was sent by them that I didn’t share with you guys because I either did not like the fit or quality. Regardless, I share with you my honest reviews and styles that I absolutely adore and believe in.
I figured why not try out their denim skirt, I have nothing to lose right? So I chose this piece and I don’t think I have been this happy ever before. This skort was everything I kept searching for; the frayed detailing, the color, the FIT! With the added bonus that I can bend down and not worry about throwing a show for people walking by. Though the shorts underneath are a bit too tight, it is so wearable and so worth it. Did I mention it’s only $17? I know…
Styling skirts is very new to me, This fun skort gave me retro, edgy vibes. I knew that a cropped white blouse would highlight the skorts detailing, so I paired it with my Jonathan Simkhai split back blouse. I bought this blouse in Intermix but it’s no longer available. Don’t worry, I’ve linked some tops below that would do!
Of course, to give it that “I care, but don’t care” look, I wore my Valentino Rockstud kicks to finish off the look. To highlight the retro vibe that the skort was giving me, I borrowed my moms vintage Hermés scarf to tie around my neck as a choker. How Parisian of me!
