Happy Halloweek! Even though Halloween is tomorrow, that doesn’t mean Fall is over! I’m excited to share with you guys very soon my first Lookbook Video, featuring some of my favorite Fall trends!
This blog post focuses on two of my current favorite Fall Trends; Vinyl and Oversized Sweatshirts. Vinyl was big in the 90s and my brother likes to call it the “garbage look”. Now, I’m a big fan of the garbage look as I think it’s super flattering on all skin complexions and body types, and is actually quite slimming. I love a vinyl texture because I think it looks super chic and badass. Obviously, vinyl can definitely look trashy if you don’t style it the right way and then it will live up to my brother’s name for it. But, we don’t want that and so below, is one of my favorite ways to style Vinyl without it looking like garbage.
There’s nothing I love more than a graphic T with a skirt; any skirt. This vinyl number is from Tobi and the T-shirt is from RiverIsland. I love these two pieces together because the metallic lettering in the T goes perfectly with the edgy vibe of the skirt. One of the easiest ways to pair a Vinyl bottom, leggings or skirt, is with a graphic T or even a simple bodysuit. One of my favorite brands for simple but comfortable bodysuits is Wear Commando.
In an Instagram post a while back, I styled a super 90s inspired, Clueless, look featuring a vinyl jacket. Because vinyl isn’t a stretchy material, an easy & comfortable way to style a vinyl jacket is with a T or even a silk/loose blouse. I personally don’t like to pair vinyl with a crazy print or color but rather keep it simple as the texture itself is enough! The vinyl jacket featured in that post is from River Island and can be purchased here or in my closet section.
Lastly, my clear frame glasses are from Sunglass.LA, which is one of my new favorite sites to purchase inexpensive stylish glasses, and my star-studded beret is from Cejon Accessories; sold at Steve Madden and Macy’s!
Another fav trend of mine this season is oversized apparel. Oversized jackets, pants, T’s and sweatshirts. This ripped up cold shoulder sweatshirt is from Tobi. It’s not suppose to be this long, but because I’m super short, it was more oversized than I think intended. So, I wore a tight skirt underneath from Lulu’s because it was too short to wear as a dress. The skirt was part of a matching set that I have and isn’t sold separately. About two days ago, I wore the exact outfit except with black ripped up skinny jeans for a more streetstyle look. I would probably wear this style sweat with jeans over a skirt, but because it was super hot this day, I decided to make my look a little different from what I would normally wear.
I had a small phase beginning of September where I was obsessed with hoodies and sweatpants. I love any sweat that has a fun saying on it or graphic because you’re able to feel comfortable but also look like you somewhat tried. One of my favorite sweatshirts, that I recently posted on the ‘gram, is a limited edition ASHISH piece on River Island. That’s an example of wearing something that is comfortable but still looks like you tried! I call it the “no makeup, makeup” look of fashion.
I can’t wait to share with you guys my Fall video, so make sure to stay alert via IG!
